LYMEC: 31 stycznia protesty przed ambasadami Białorusi i MSZ
Liberalna Młodzież Europejska - LYMEC, w której skład wchodzi Projekt:Polska, wolnościowy think-do-tank, wystosowała list w którym wraz z Liberalną Młodzieżą Białorusi informuje o prześladowaniach opozycji i wzywa do protestów 31 stycznia (poniedziałek).

Propaganda Łukaszenki oskarża o inspirację demokracji polskie i niemieckie służby specjalne.
Według oficjalnych wyników Łukaszenko uzyskał ponad 80 proc. poparcia. Obserwatorzy OBWE nie uznali wyborów za wolne.
W poniedziałek, 31 stycznia ministrowie spraw zagranicznych krajów Unii Europejskiej na spotkaniu Rady UE mają podjąć decyzję o reakcji na ostatnie wydarzenia na Białorusi i podjąć środki mające na celu uderzenie w dyktaturę i wsparcie ludności białoruskiej.
Dlatego też LYMEC i Liberalna Młodzież Białorusi prosi o wsparcie Białorusinów, tych, którzy podzielają demokratyczne wartości do wyrażenia solidarności z więźniami politycznymi na Białorusi, poprzez zorganizowanie ulicznych demonstracji na przeciwko krajowych siedzib ministrów spraw zagranicznych i ambasad białoruskich w poniedziałkowy poranek.
Pełna treść listu: Appeal from Belarus
Dear Liberal Friends,
We am sure most of you are aware of the sad events that took place in Belarus during the recent presidential elections on December 19, 2010. On that day after the polling stations closed more than 50 000 people led by the opposition leaders went out in the main street of the capital to express their protest against the Lukashenko regime. This resulted in provocations by KGB and a violent crackdown on the peaceful demonstrators by the special police unit. More than 600 people were detained and then served 10-15 days of administrative arrest. Ex-candidates were also severely beaten and detained and now 7 of 9 of them together with other members of their teams and prominent opposition activists (more than 30 people) are under a criminal investigation which can lead up to 15 years of imprisonment.
After the election day opposition activists, human rights defenders, journalists and people who came to the demonstration have been continuously persecuted and detained and their offices and homes searched and computers, laptops, hard disks, as well as printed materials are confiscated.
Students are being expelled from universities and people who work at state enterprises are losing their jobs just because they want to live in a free and democratic country.
A heavy propaganda by the state media and Alexander Lukashenko himself declare that the regime saved the country from a revolution prepared by the German and Polish secret services.
The incumbent won elections with official results of 80% which is obviously a fraudulent number. OSCE/ODIHR election observers did not recognize the elections to be free and fair and observed a number of severe violations, as well as opposition activists, human rights defenders and other civil society observers did.
The USA and the EU do not recognize the elections to be democratic and thus they do not recognize Alexander Lukashenko as the legitimate leader of Belarus. EU member states condemned the violence and severe oppression of the opposition in Belarus and urged for the release of the political prisoners and new elections. Poland and Sweden have imposed travel ban on more than 100 officials who have been involved in the violation of basic human rights and freedoms of the Belarusian people.
The European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe have adopted resolutions on the situation in Belarus in which they are calling not only for the visa ban for government officials, but also for the economic sanctions against the authoritarian regime and in which they express their full support to the civil society of Belarus.
On Monday, January 31st, Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the EU Member-States at the EU Council meeting will make a decision on the European Union’s reaction on the recent events in Belarus and adopt measures that will be taken by the Union to respond to the dictator and to support Belarus people.
In this regard we urge LYMEC member organizations on an ad-hoc basis to support the people of Belarus who share the democratic values and to express solidarity and support to the political prisoners in Belarus by organizing a street action in front of the ministries of foreign affairs or Belarusian embassies in your countries in the morning of Monday, 31st January.
Please, we need your support!!!
